Introduced in 2011 in Jean-Paul Gaultier's final collection for Hermès, the Kelly Picnic reinterprets the house's icon by bringing together two crafts: leatherwork and basketry. Available in size 20 since 2019, it has become one of the most coveted pieces on the secondary market.
The handwoven natural wicker body is set within a Swift Nata calfskin framework, a soft creamy white that blends with the shade of the wicker for a monochrome effect of great delicacy. The flap, straps, handle and edging remain in leather; the Palladium hardware provides the only cool note in the design. An exceptional piece, produced in small numbers and all the more sought after in this shade.
